Artist-inspired print packaging for a delightful unboxing experience that delivers on sustainability.

Background

Since 2017, Canva Print has offered seamless and sustainable printing. Our commitment is to make every moment delightful – from when someone starts a design until their package is delivered including the unboxing.

idea

We wanted to use our packaging to bring more delight to the unboxing experience and to shine a light on the incredible work of emerging artists, as well as our in-house illustrators.

The packaging is also designed to raise awareness of Canva’s commitment to minimizing our environmental impact and our important One Print, One Tree program.

sustainability

With sustainability in mind, the packaging is made with recycled material and soy-based ink, an environment-friendly and safer alternative to petroleum-based inks. For every print order placed with Canva, we plant a tree through our One Print, One Tree Program.

The pattern of native tree species represents the communities where One Print, One Tree makes an impact. They’re also sprinkled with fun facts about the program and inspiring ways to give the packaging a second life.

ARTIST COLLAB

We partnered with artists from Brazil, the Philippines, Argentina, and South Korea to create illustrations for limited-edition boxes.

These local artists represent the communities where One Print, One Tree champions its sustainability efforts.

FROM THE BOX AND BEYOND

Every box delivers our story of sustainability. As we scale up our Canva Print efforts, we want to give more insights to our community so they become aware of and take pride in their amazing impact.

With our collaboration with Reduce, Reuse, Grow, we plan to share the ability to understand where trees have been planted, information on tree species, and the communities that benefited.

“Loving all the incredible work on our print packaging. Can't wait for them to land in our community’s hands.”
