Canva Create returns with

a Brand New Era for teams

— and a brand new look.

With more than 1.5 million people registered to ​attend in-person and virtually from all across ​the world, Canva Create: Brand New Era ​revealed the exciting ways we’re evolving our ​products to empower brands in this new era.


To bring this vision to life, we designed a ​distinct and elevated brand identity that ​communicated our key message through ​photography, motion graphics, experiential ​activations, and environmental design.

Insight

The theme of this year's Canva Create, focused ​on empowering everyone to embrace a Brand ​​New Era of visual communication — an era where ​AI-powered technology equips everyone to ​design anything they can think of, at any scale.

Brand Idea

Using a timeline device, we wanted to visualize the ​evolution of the design process. Exploding out of this ​exciting point of time. Each set of images creates a ​different 'brand world' showing the layers of building ​a brand. The design system uses a sense of forward ​momentum and the colour palette hints at the dawn ​of a new era.

We created templates and toolkits to ​empower our whole team to use the ​Brand New Era identity.

The elements within our brand system were designed to represent ​'Brand Hub' and the way creatives can use Canva as the 'Home for ​Every Brand'.

The in-person event was held in The Cutaway in ​Sydney, wherein we set up this expansive space ​for a magic-filled show, event installations, and ​activations that give a sense of what the Brand ​New Era is all about.
